Housing

The Courtlands development would provide 136 new homes, helping towards Eastbourne’s target to provide some 5,000 new homes by 2027. The aim is to build at least 70% of these new homes on land that has been previously developed (brownfield sites).

A range of flats and houses has been proposed at The Courtlands to provide sustainable accommodation for different sizes of households and family units, as follows:

  • 7 two bedroom houses
  • 27 three/four bedroom houses
  • 25 one bedroom flats
  • 77 two bedroom flats

It is proposed that approximately 30% of the homes will be allocated for affordable housing to be sold or rented by a housing association.

There will be driveways and bay parking for the houses and underground parking below the apartment blocks serving the flats. There will be additional parking for visitors and the commercial unit will have dedicated customer parking and a loading bay.  Every home will have cycle parking.
